Who runs this

Clipping Point is an independent, free-to-play fantasy game that follows the Drift Masters Grand Prix season. We are not affiliated with Drift Masters Grand Prix Sp. z o.o. or any competing team. It is run by a private individual based in Finland, who is the data controller for your personal data. Contact: contact@clippingpoint.app.

What we collect

  • Email address — for signing in. Stored by Supabase Auth. We also use it to send you account emails (sign-in confirmation, password reset) and, only if you opt in at signup or from your profile, lineup-lock reminders — all through our email provider, Resend.
  • Marketing email (optional) — if you enter your email in our launch sign-up form, we store it to email you when the season opens and to remind you before rounds lock. Every such email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
  • Password — hashed by Supabase. We never see it in plain text.
  • Team name and nationality — shown publicly on the leaderboard. An automatically generated username also appears on team and league pages.
  • Profile picture (optional) — uploaded by you, shown on the public leaderboard.
  • Game data — your team name, driver picks, ace selection, league memberships.

We don't use device fingerprints, advertising identifiers, analytics, or tracking scripts of any kind. Our hosting and email providers (Supabase, Vercel, Resend) may log IP addresses briefly for security and abuse prevention, as is standard — we don't use those logs to track or profile you.

Cookies

We only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function, such as an authentication cookie set by Supabase to keep you signed in. No tracking cookies, no consent banner needed.

Who sees your data

Your email and game data are stored on Supabase's EU servers, and hosting runs on Vercel. To send account and reminder emails we share your email address with Resend, our email delivery provider (a US company), strictly so the email reaches you. That transfer to the US is covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. All three providers act as data processors on our behalf and may only use your data to provide their service to us. We do not sell or rent your data, and we share it with no one else.

Why we're allowed to use it (lawful basis)

  • Running your account and the game — based on the contract you enter when you sign up (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Lock reminders and marketing emails — based on your consent, which you can withdraw anytime via the unsubscribe link or your profile (Art. 6(1)(a)).
  • Keeping the service secure — based on our legitimate interest in preventing abuse (Art. 6(1)(f)).

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, it is removed from our live database immediately, along with your email on any marketing list, and rolls off our providers' encrypted backups within a short retention window. Launch-list emails are kept until you unsubscribe.

Children

Clipping Point is not directed at children. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, in line with Finnish data protection law.

Your rights (GDPR)

  • Access — see what we store about you on the profile page.
  • Correction — edit your team name, nationality, and avatar from the profile page.
  • Deletion — delete your account from the profile page. This wipes your profile, teams, picks, league memberships, and removes your email from our marketing list. The action is permanent.
  • Portability or complaints — email us at the address above, or contact the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman.

Changes

We will update this page if we ever change what we collect. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
